Fun with Flowers: Fun with Flowers is a workshop that provides materials and demonstration for making a basic flower arrangement using fresh plant material. Attendees at the workshop make the arrangement and take it with them. Workshops are typically offered during the months October through April. Find the dates and locations on the Calendar of Events. These workshops are open to the public and a fee is charged to cover the cost of materials.
Gardening Circles: Discover the benefits of gardening by sharing and learning with a small group of members. Our four Circles meet monthly to provide a format for members to focus on common interests in gardening. Each circle plans field trips, programs and social activities that meet their specific needs. See the calendar for each circle listed under the Circle name.
Friendship Gathering: The Pioneer Garden Club supports the protection and conservation of natural resources. We accomplish this mission through our civic beautification projects at local public parks. Every other year the club organizes a gathering of friends and members to raise funds for these projects. See the PGC Calendar for details.
Poinsettia Fundraiser for Scholarships: This is a holiday tradition from the Pioneer Garden Club of Ocala. The holidays are busy and members can spread a bit of cheer by selling and delivering fresh-from-the-greenhouse poinsettias to friends and neighbors, local businesses and churches in the Greater Ocala area. Profits from this fundraiser go to our scholarship at the College of Central Florida and to summer camp scholarships for Camp Wekiva and the Discovery Science Center.
Club Celebration Luncheons: Celebrating accomplishments is so important to the health of an organization. Every other year the club celebrates gardening and all its benefits for individuals and for the community of Ocala and Marion County at it's officer installation luncheon. Circles typically have special celebration events every spring.
